MORANDO, GIUSEPPE. – Philosopher, born in Genoa on 28 January 1866, died in Voghera on 4 May 1914. He was a privat-docent at the Universities of Padua and Milan, and subsequently headmaster of the Voghera Lyceum.
A student and popularizer of Rosminian doctrines, he wrote: Ottimismo e pessimismo (Milan 1890); Lo scetticismo e Gaetano Neri (there 1894); Il problema del libero arbitrio (there 1895); Corso elementare di filosofia: psicologia, logica, etica (there 1898–99), and his major work, a volume of approximately 1,000 pages: Esame critico delle 40 proposizioni rosminiane (there 1905). In 1906 he founded Rivista rosminiana and directed it until his death.
