ALESSANDRO PELLEGRINI. — Preacher and exegete, born at Matelica in 1600, died at Rome on 28 August 1647. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1621 and was professor of humanities and superior.
Works: *Evangelium secundum Matthaeum paradosi illustratum* (I, Rome 1638; II, Loreto 1645; original but of little exegetical value); *Oratio de Passione Domini habita in die Paraseces coram S.D.N. Urbano VIII a. 1640* (in *Orationes quinquaginta de Christi Domini morte habitae... a Patribus S. I.*, Rome 1641).
