PENTECOSTARION. – A liturgical book of the Byzantine rite containing the proper parts of the Divine Office for the paschal season, i.e., from Easter Sunday to the first Sunday after Pentecost, called All Saints’ Sunday. In the ancient Slavonic editions, and still today among the Ruthenians, the book opens with Palm Sunday. There exists no study on the history of the P. Editio princeps, in Greek: Venice 1544.
