LITTLE COMPANY OF MARY. - Founded at Nottingham in 1877 by Mary Potter, with the assistance of Bishop Msgr. Bagshawe.

On 31 May 1886 the Sacred Congregation of Propaganda Fide approved the Institute and the Constitutions. The spread of the L. C. of M. was rapid, and at present it is present in Australia, in South Africa, in the United States and in many parts of Europe with 35 houses and over 1000 religious dedicated to the care of the sick and the dying in clinics and hospitals.
