PODGORITZA. — It is the ancient "Dioclea" in eastern Illyricum, where in 1873 a large dish of transparent white glass with raised edges was discovered. On it are engraved scenes from the Old and New Testaments with rough explanatory inscriptions.
In the center is the Sacrifice of Abraham, and around it Adam and Eve (with the inscription "Abram et Evam" nearby); the Resurrection of Lazarus (inscription: Dominus Laiarum resuscitat); the miracle of the fountain (inscription: Petrus virga perquosset fontes ciper-runt quore (per currare)); Daniel among the lions (inscription: Daniel de laco leonis); the Three Youths in the furnace (inscription: Tris pueri de egne camini); Susanna (inscription: Susanna de falso crimine); Jonah (inscription: Diurna de ventre quieti liberatus est).
