RAMPEGOLO (de Rampegolis, Rampegolus, Rampelogi, Rampalogi, Rampazoli), ANTONIO. — Augustinian theologian and preacher, born in Genova around 1360, died after 1423.
Ordained a priest in 1384, from 1388 onward he taught theology in the convents of Padova, Bologna, and Napoli, where he was also regent of studies; it seems that he took part in the Council of Costanza (1414–18).
Works: Figurae Bibliorum, intended for preachers, printed many times in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and, after the corrections ordered under Clement VIII, again in the seventeenth century; De pagna spirituali; Quadragesimale (Napoli 1496); Opus caunum conscientiae; Sermones.
