RICCI, MAURO. - Writer, b. in Firenze on 14 June 1826; Piarist on 17 Sept. 1843, d. in Roma on 27 Jan. 1900.
He was associated with the leading men of letters of his time; Leone XIII appointed him professor of Italian literature at the Higher School established by him in Roma. He was general of the Piarist Schools from 1886 until his death. Among his extensive works may be mentioned: Vita della s.
