TEODORO bar Kōnī. — Nestorian writer of the 8th century, originally from Kāškat, not to be confused with Teodoro, bishop of Lāšōm.
He was probably a monk. His only surviving work is the Liber scholiorum, which contains eleven mēmēr, or commentaries. Mēmēr 1–5 comment on the Old Testament, and mēmēr 7–9 on the New. The 6th contains a sort of introduction to the New Testament, with many theological definitions. The others are apologetic in content, directed against heretics, Muslims, and pagans. The 11th provides very interesting information about the Manichaeans and other Eastern sects. The Syriac text of the Liber scholiorum was published by Addai Scher in the Corpus Script. Chr. Or., Ser.
