Trevi

TREVICO. – Village and former diocese in the province of Avellino.

It was an episcopal see from the 10th century onward, suffragan of Benevento; it was suppressed by Pope Pius VII in 1818 and incorporated into the see of Lacedonia. The patron of the diocese was s. Euplo; the former cathedral, now a collegiate church, is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
