TREVI. - Village and ancient diocese in the province of Avellino.

It was an episcopal see from the 10th century, a suffragan of Benevento; it was suppressed by Pope Pius VII in 1818 and incorporated with the see of Lacedonia. The patron of the diocese was St. Euplus; the former cathedral, now a collegiate church, is dedicated to the B. Virgin Mary.
