ALESSIO di SANTA MARTA. – Discalced Carmelite, in the world Giovanni Matteo Lubati; born at Carrù (Mondovì) on 25 February 1648, he took the habit at Mondovì on 16 July 1665; he lived almost always in Turin, enduring with admirable patience the serious illnesses from which he suffered for many years, and died there on 20 February 1723.
He published several novenas in preparation for the feasts of Our Lady and s. Giuseppe, writings on the mysteries of the Faith, and a Life of sr. Anna Maria di s. Gioacchino (Turin 1713).
