ANSERAMO (ANSERANO) da TRANI. - Architect and sculptor active in the second half of the 13th century. He was a skilful marble-worker fond of bizarre and imaginative ornaments. His masterpiece in this manner consists of a series of reliefs now incorporated in the Oratory of the Madonna del Rosario at Terlizzi, with the Annunciation, the Adoration of the Magi, the Crucifixion, and a Last Supper, not lacking Byzantine elements. Also his is one of the Falconi funerary monuments in the church of S. Margherita at Bisceglie, dated 1276.
