ANSERAMO (ANSERANO) da TRANI. - Architect and sculptor active in the second half of the 13th century. He was a skilled marble-worker fond of bizarre and fanciful ornaments. His masterpiece, in this manner, consists of a series of reliefs now incorporated in the Oratory of the Madonna del Rosario in Terlizzi, with the Annunciation, the Adoration of the Magi, the Crucifixion and a Last Supper, not devoid of Byzantine elements. One of the Falconi funerary monuments in the church of S. Margherita in Bisceglie, dated 1276, is also his.
