ANSERAMO (ANSERANO) of TRANI. — Architect and sculptor active in the second half of the 13th century. He was a skilled marble-worker with a fondness for fanciful and whimsical ornamentation. His masterpiece, in this style, consists of a series of reliefs now incorporated into the Oratory of the Madonna del Rosario in Terlizzi, including the *Annunciation*, the *Adoration of the Magi*, the *Crucifixion*, and a *Last Supper*, not without Byzantine elements. Also attributed to him is one of the Falconi funerary monuments in the church of S. Margherita in Bisceglie, dated 1276.
