ANSELMO of RIBEMONT. — Count of Ribemont, near S. Quintino (France), descendant of the counts of Valenciennes, he was one of the first crusaders in 1095 with Goffredo di Buglione; but during the siege of Archas, near Tripoli, he was killed by a stone in 1099. A letter of his concerning the siege of Antioch has been preserved (ed. L. d'Achéry, Spicilegium, III, Paris 1723, pp. 431–43).
