BACHENSTEIN, JOHANN von. — Archdeacon of Zagreb, who lived in the fifteenth century. He played an important role at the Council of Basel, where he went in 1432 as procurator for the bishops of Zagreb and Five Churches. The Council entrusted him with many important missions to Pope Eugene IV and other political figures. He was a referendary in the proceedings against Eugene IV, chaplain to the antipope Felix V and to Frederick III.
