BENNONE, bishop of RIMINI. — Appointed in 1230. Highly esteemed by Gregory IX, he was entrusted with numerous missions and was charged with resolving a dispute between the archbishop of Ravenna and that of Faenza. He founded the leprosarium of S. Lazzaro, near Rimini, and hosted in his city s. Antonio da Padova, who had gone there to spread devotion to the Most Holy Sacrament. He died around 1235.
