BIANCHINI, FRANCESCO. – Born on 13 Dec. 1662 at Verona, died on 2 Mar. 1729 at Rome, where he went after studying at Bologna and Padua. Though he held only minor orders, he obtained a canonical benefice at S. Maria ad Martyres, then at S. Lorenzo in Damaso and finally at S. Maria Maggiore, where he was buried. He illustrated the Camera and sepulchral inscriptions of the house of Augustus discovered on the Appian Way (1727) and later the Palace of the Caesars in a large volume that, however, was published posthumously at Verona in 1738.
