CAPULIO, PIETRO. — Conventual theologian, b. at Cortona in the second half of the 16th century, d. at Conversano on 24 June 1625. He was regent of studies at the “Magna Domus Venetiarum,” in Bologna, and at the Sistine College of S. Bonaventura in Rome (1593–1605). Faithful to the norms laid down by Sixtus V when the college was established, from the chair and in his writings he taught the doctrine of s. Bonaventura. His Commentaria in I et II Sent. D. Bonaventurae (Venice 1623–25) are of great value. Paul V appointed him bishop of Conversano on 31 August 1605.
