CITTÀ DI VITA. - A bimonthly journal of religious studies and theological culture for laypeople, founded in Florence in 1946. As the official organ of theological studies and institutes for laypeople established since 1945 in various Italian cities (Florence, Padua, Naples, Perugia, Messina, Assisi, Viterbo, Albano, Potenza), it collects, in a style of high popularization, articles on apologetics, dogmatic and moral theology, Church history and pathology, sacred art and literature, history of philosophy and theology, religious news of current interest, and a selected bibliography. Its director is Fr. Raniero Sciamannini of the F.M.C., dean of the Studio in Florence (Basilica of S. Croce); its contributors include the faculty of the various theological studies and institutes for laypeople, as well as other distinguished writers (Bargellini, Battelli, Brezzi, Del Boni, Degl'Innocenti, Garin, Levasti, Manacorda, Papini, Rodolico, Sciacca, Sciamannini, Vaccari, Veuthey, Zolli).
