CIACONIO (CHACÓN), PEDRO. – Spanish theologian and humanist, born in Toledo in 1527, died in Rome in 1581, where he resided for a long time. Gregory XIII commissioned him to revise the text of the Bible, that of many sacred writers, and the Decretum Gratiani. He collaborated on the reform of the calendar. He annotated Arnobius, Minucius Felix, and Tertullian.
