Corpus Domas Jejuniis

CORPUS DOMAS JEJUNIIS. - Hymn of Matins for the office of St. John Cantius, by an unknown author, composed for his canonization, which took place in 1757. The virtues of the Saint, the many penances with which he chastised his body, the charity that led him to deny nothing, are narrated in verses that lack any poetic breath. The last stanza is a heartfelt prayer for the salvation of Poland.
