« CORPUS DOMAS JEJUNIIS ». — Hymn of Matins for the Office of s. Giovanni Canzio, by an unknown author, composed for his canonization, which took place in 1757. The Saint’s virtues, the many penances with which he chastised his body, and the charity that led him to refuse nothing are narrated in verses entirely lacking in poetic inspiration. The final stanza is a heartfelt prayer for the salvation of Poland.
