DEL PAS, ÁNGEL, Venerable. - Spanish Franciscan, theologian, preacher, and ascetical writer, born in Perpignan (Catalonia) in 1540, died in Rome on 23 August 1596. He preached in many Italian cities, especially in Genoa alongside Panigarola. His cause for beatification was introduced on 7 June 1625.
He left 30 works, including notable commentaries on the *Symbolum* (2 vols., Rome 1596-1614), *In Marci Evangelium* (ibid. 1623), and *In Lucae Evangelium* (ibid. 1625), as well as various ascetical pamphlets such as *Breve trattato del conoscere et amare Iddio* (ibid. 1596).
