DEL PAS, ANGEL, venerable. — Spanish Friar Minor, theologian, exegete, preacher, and ascetical writer, born in Perpignan (Catalonia) in 1540, died in Rome on 23 August 1596. He preached in many cities of Italy, especially in Genoa with Panigarola. His cause of beatification was introduced on 7 June 1625.
He left 30 works, among which the notable commentaries In Symbolum (2 vols., Rome 1596–1614), In Marci Evangelium (ibid. 1623), and In Lucae Evangelium (ibid. 1625), as well as several ascetical pamphlets, including: Breve trattato del conoscere et amare Iddio (ibid. 1596).
