DROUART DE LEZEY, LOUIS. - A descendant of the old Lorraine nobility, born at Dunkirk on 27 April 1849. Having entered the seminary of the Foreign Missions of Paris on 30 September 1869 and been ordained a priest on 7 June 1873, he set out that same year for Japan, where, after holding various offices, he was appointed (1907) curate of the cathedral of Sekiguchi.
He then devoted himself to the apostolate of the press, directing the Revue catholique (Kákyá Zasshi) and publishing various books of propaganda, several of which were reprinted several times. In 1917 he offered himself to direct a leper hospital, where he died on 3 November 1930.
