DROUART DE LEZEY, LOUIS - FRÉDÉRIC-AUGUSTE. — Descended from the old nobility of Lorraine, b. at Dunkirk on 27 April 1849. He entered the Seminary of the Foreign Missions of Paris on 30 September 1869 and was ordained a priest on 7 June 1873. In the same year he departed for Japan, where, after holding various offices, he was appointed (1907) rector of the cathedral of Sékiguchi.
He subsequently devoted himself to the apostolate of the press, directing the Revue catholique (Kákyá Zasshi) and publishing various books of propaganda, several of which were reprinted a number of times. In 1917 he volunteered to direct a leprosarium, where he died on 3 November 1930.
