DROUART DE LEZEY, LOUIS-FRÉDÉRIC-AUGUSTE. - Of old Lorrain nobility, b. at Dunkerque on 27 Apr. 1849. On 30 Sept. 1869 he entered the Paris Seminary of the Foreign Missions and was ordained priest on 7 June 1873. In the same year he left for Japan, where, after holding various posts, he was appointed (1907) curate of the cathedral of Sékiguchi.
He then devoted himself to the apostolate of the press, directing the Revue catholique (Kökvö Zasshi) and publishing various books of propaganda, several of which were reprinted many times. In 1917 he offered to direct a leper hospital, where he died on 3 Nov. 1930.
