DUCCI, ZACCARIA. — Born at Salutio di Castelfocognano (Arezzo) on 16 February 1861, died at Fiesole on 3 August 1944. He entered the Franciscan Order in 1879 and in 1886 departed as a missionary for Bolivia, where he remained until 1895, when he returned to Italy and published the Diario of his visit to all the Bolivian missions, in which he had participated as secretary to the general commissary. From 1900 to 1915 he returned to the missions in Argentina (at Corrientes and in the Gran Chaco), adding to his apostolic zeal the study of the region, especially of the Toba tribe and their language.
