Endres, Joseph Anton

ENDRES, JOSEPH ANTON. - Philosopher, b. at Untermeltingen (Germany) on 12 May 1863, d. at Bidingen on 19 Jan. 1924. A disciple of G. von Hertling, a priest in 1887, from 1890 he was professor of philosophy at the Lyceum of Regensburg.

E. is known especially for his research on the history of Scholastic philosophy. Principal works: Geschichte der mittelalterlichen Philosophie (Kempten 1908), Thomas von Aquin (1910), Forschungen zur Geschichte der frühmittelalterlichen Philosophie (Münster 1915).
