ERCHEMPERTO (HERCHEMPERT, ARCHEMPERT). — A Lombard, monk of Monte Cassino; after the destruction of his monastery (885), he lived in Capua. He wrote the continuation of the history of the Lombards by Paolo Diacono (Historia Langobardorum Beneventum degentium ab an. 774 ad an. 889) and a versified martyrology.
