ERCHEMPPERT (Herchempter, Archempter). - Lombard, monk of Monte Cassino; after the destruction of his monastery (885) he lived at Capua. He wrote the continuation of the history of the Lombards by Paul the Deacon (Historia Langobardorum Beneventum degentium ab an. 774 ad an. 889) and a versified martyrology.
