FELICE da Prato. — Augustinian exegete, born in Prato in the second half of the 15th century to Jewish parents, died in Rome around 1560. For some time he was a fervent and highly learned rabbi. After converting to Christianity, he entered the Augustinian order and carried out his priestly apostolate especially through writings and preaching aimed at converting his former coreligionists. In 1523 he was awarded a degree in theology by the Augustinian general Gabriele Veneto. Later, both by his religious Congregation of Lecceto (Siena) and by the higher superiors of the Order of St Augustine, he was entrusted with various important offices and assignments. He was buried in the church of Sant'Agostino, Rome.
