GIUSEPPA MARIA DI SANT'AGNESE, blessed. – An Augustinian nun of the Congregation of the Discalced in the monastery of Benigànim, in the province of Valencia, Spain. Born into a poor family on 9 February 1625, she died on 21 January 1696. On 25 October 1643 she took the religious habit. She distinguished herself through her remarkable purity and patience in adversity: for several years she remained mute. She was beatified by Leo XIII on 26 February 1888. Feast day: 21 January.
