JOSEPHINE OF SAINT AGNES, Blessed. - Augustinian nun of the Congregation of the Discalced in the monastery of Benigànim, in the province of Valencia, in Spain. Born of a poor family on 9 February 1625, died on 21 January 1696. On 25 October 1643 she took the religious habit. She was distinguished for a remarkable purity and patience in adversity: for several years she remained mute. She was beatified by Leo XIII on 26 February 1888. Feast on 21 January.
