KINGA («Cunegonda»), blessed. – Patroness of Poland and Lithuania, born in 1224, died at Stary Sącz on 24 July 1292. Sister of Blessed Jolanda and Blessed Margherita, daughter of Bela IV of Hungary and Theodora Laskarysa. While still very young, she married in 1239 the duke of Cracow, Boleslaw V. In 1279 she founded the convent and church of the Poor Clares at Stary Sącz in Poland.

The miraculous discovery of the salt mines of Bochnien in Poland is attributed to her. The process of beatification was begun in 1628. Pope Alexander VIII
