LORIN (Lorinus), JEAN de. - Jesuit exegete, b. in 1559 at Avignone, d. at Rome on 26 March 1634. He began his novitiate in 1575. He taught philosophy at Rome, theology and Holy Scripture at Paris, Milano, and Rome. He was also theologian to the General of the Society of Jesus. He brought about the conversion of many Jews.
