PIETRO di OLAF (Petrus Olai). – Confessor of s. Brigida, a Alvastra (v.) and therefore also called P. d'Alvastra, d. at Vadstena in 1390.
He was beside Brigida in Rome around 1351 and during the last years of her life, assisting her in the formulation of the conventual rules. He accompanied the Saint’s remains to Sweden and returned to Italy, preparing (together with her daughter s. Caterina) for her canonization. He compiled a biography of Brigida and an account of her revelations, in collaboration with another monk of the same name.
