edited by G. Mercati (Note di letteratura cristiana antica [Studi e testi, 5], Rome 1901, p. 207 ff.). Their martyrdom is depicted in the Menologion of Basil II (Cod. Vat. Greek 1613, p. 15).

In the Syriac Martyrology S. is mentioned several times: on July 19 for the martyrs Macedonius and Tatian of Meros, immolated at S. (under the same date in the Hieronymianum); on July 30 for the martyrs Democritus, Secundus, and Dionysius; on August 13 for the martyr Antoninus (in the Hieronymianum on this date he is indicated as bishop); and on September 20 for Dorymedon, martyred together with Trophimus and Sabbas of Antioch of Pisidia; in the Hieronymianum Trophimus is on September 19 and Dorymedon on September 20.

Near S., a stone reliquary shaped like a small sarcophagus with a gabled lid was found, equipped with akroteria and fastened with iron clamps; on the outside of the lid itself was an inscription in Greek stating that the reliquary contained the relic of the skull of s. Trophimus (the remains were found inside); another inscription, also in Greek, was on the front of the small sarcophagus; W. M. Calder believed it to be later than the persecution of Maximinus or that of Licinius; for P. Franchi de' Cavalieri it is not necessary to lower the date down to the triumph of the Church. The precious reliquary is today in the Ottoman Museum of Broussa.
