Having moved to Rome with her family in 1774, she led a hard-working life in order to support her own; in 1789 she married a servant of the Chigi household, to whom she bore seven children; in 1790 she enrolled in the Third Order of the Trinitarians. She proved herself the most accomplished model of wife and mother, gladdening everyone with her smile and taking upon her shoulders every toil

She began to lead a life of austere penance for the conversion of sinners and the needs of the Church, adding to it an heroic endurance of physical and moral sufferings, insults, misunderstandings, and even spiritual dryness and darkness. She was favoured with supernatural gifts; for 47 years she saw, as if in a sun mysteriously suspended above her head, present but distant, past, and future events, the state of consciences, and above all the continual iniquities committed against God; this intensified her spirit of love and reparation. She was consulted by many great figures of the Church and of the world. Her incorrupt body was taken in 1855 to S. Maria della Pace and in 1865 to the basilica of S. Crisogono, served by the Trinitarians. Beatified on 30 May 1920. Feast day: 9 June.
