THEODORE OF RAITHU. - Monk in the convent of that important port which was Raithu, in the Sinai peninsula, on the Gulf of Suez.

Between 537 and 553 he wrote his Praeparatio for christological studies. The first part mentions 8 heresies from Mani down to Severus of Antioch; the second part contains philosophical definitions for dogmatic use. That the book De sectis, attributed to Leontius of Byzantium, has anything to do with T. is not proven.
