ANEMIO. – Bishop of Sirmium in Pannonia (late 4th century). He is mentioned in the life of St Ambrose for the part taken by the Bishop of Milan in his appointment (380). He was present at the Council of Aquileia in 381, where Arianism was condemned. He is also mentioned in the Roman Synod of 382. Before 391, A. was already dead, since by that date Sirmium had a new incumbent named Cornelius (cf. Mansi, III, 581, 599, 601, 612, 1058). Mario Scaduto
