on August 24, 1679. At the age of sixteen he embraced religious life in the religious province of Bologna; in 1679 he was incorporated into the new province of Lombardy (Parma). For many years he was a lecturer in philosophy and theology, a zealous preacher, and a highly appreciated spiritual director.

His scholarly activity was entirely dedicated to the doctrine of St. Bonaventure, from whose works he derived school manuals of philosophy (Flores et fructus philosophici seu Cursus philosophici ad mentem s. Bonaventurae, 3 vols., Lyon 1677) and theology (Cursus theologicus ad mentem seraphi doctoris s. Bonaventurae, 2 vols., ibid. 1787), which contributed greatly to the dissemination of Bonaventurian thought. A Tabula seu Index generalis in Opera omnia s. Bonaventurae (ibid. 1681) was of great use to the modern editors of Quaracchi. B. also studied Scripture in the light of the works of the Seraphic Doctor: Glossa seu summa ex omnibus s. Bonaventurae expositionibus in S. Scriptorum exacte collecta et in facem usum studiosis Concionatoribus secundum ordinem biblicam concinnata (4 vols., ibid. 1681-85). A treatise of his on spiritual theology: Teologia mistica del Serafico Dottore s. Bonaventura o pratica della presenza di Gesù Cristo Dio ed uomo remained in manuscript and is now lost.
