CALI, DIOCESI di. — In the Republic of Colombia, department of Valle del Cauca, suffragan of Popayán.

Erected by Pius X on 7 June 1910, it has a territorial area of 19,789 sq km and a population of 713,100, of whom 698,966 are Catholics, with 152 churches, 50 parishes, 78 diocesan priests, and 100 religious priests (Augustinians, Franciscans, Jesuits, Lazarists, Redemptorists, Salesians, and Marist Brothers). These figures are according to the data for 1948. Among the religious monuments, the churches of S. Pedro and S. Francisco, with the magnificent adjoining convent, are noteworthy.
