CANTINI, TOMMASO. — Carthusian, died 18 Nov. 1649. Doctor of theology, he left the Society of Jesus to enter the Carthusian Order at the monastery of Naples, where he professed on 21 Dec. 1608. He was prior of Trusilli, of Capri and of Calabria.
Of him we have: *Expositio in Canticum Canticorum*... a work... corrected and brought into better form... published by the Venerable Father D. Victor Felicissimus (Nabantino), Prior of the Carthusian Charterhouse of Calabria, Naples 1859. Among the manuscripts he left: *Sacra Carmina* (ms. in the Biblioteca Barberiniana, Rome, no. CXXIX); *De bonitate et malitia humanorum actuum*, bk. II.
