CORRADINI, ANTONIO. - Sculptor, born in Este toward the end of the 17th century, died in Naples on 12 August 1752.
An excellent decorator, he owed the full flowering of his art and personality to the example of Bernini. In addition to a marble group representing the Sposalizio di Maria, carved for a fountain in Vienna, he executed the tomb of St. John Nepomucene in Prague, groups of statues for the Grosser Garten in Dresden, the statue of General Schulenburg in Corfu, and the veiled statue of Faith in Gurk (1721). His last and most characteristic work was the statue of Modesty in S. Severo in Naples.
