DE MONOGRAMMA CHRISTI. — Short treatise attributed to St. Girolamo concerning the form and meaning of the monogram of Christ.

The text is an addition to Girolamo’s revision of Vittorino di Pettau’s work on Apoc. 13:18. Morin considered it the work of St. Girolamo himself (v. Revue Bénédictine, 20 [1903], pp. 225–32; idem, Anecdota Mared-solana, Maredsous 1903, pp. 194–98; idem, Etudes, Textes, Découvertes, ibid. 1931, p. 20 ff). See, however, the objection of G. Haussleiter in his edition: Victorini episcopi Petavionensis opera, Vienna 1916, p. 124; CSEL, XXXIX; also G. Grützmacher, Hieronymus, III, Berlin 1908, p. 238. Erik Peterson
