FRANCISCAN STUDIES. - Journal founded in 1907 by the Capuchin Friars Minor of the province of Catalonia for the defense and illustration of Catholic science and for the advancement of Franciscan history and doctrine.

Monthly and in the Spanish language from 1907 to 1922 (29 vols.); from 1923, vol. 30, in the Catalan language (Estudis Franciscans) as a valorization of regional culture, with international reach through articles in other languages; from 1927 to 1936, vols. 39-48, quarterly; suspended after 1936 because of the Marxist revolution; publication resumed in the Spanish language, in 1948 (Barcelona-Sarriá), four-monthly, under the care of the Friars Minor Capuchin of Spain and America.
