EUZOIUS, Bishop of Antioch, formerly Deacon of Alexandria. - He was one of the first followers of Arius, together with whom he was excommunicated and deposed in 320 by Alexander, bishop of Alexandria (Socrates, Hist. Eccl., I, 6) and then by the Council of Nicaea (325). In 332 he was invited to Nicomedia together with Arius and presented to Constantine an equivocal formula, which earned him the imperial pardon.

In 333 he was received into the communion of the Church of Jerusalem, and in 361 the strict Arians elected him bishop of Antioch in opposition to the semi-Arian Meletius. In Nov. 361 he baptized at Mopsucrene in Cilicia the dying Constantius II. The Arian Valens in 372 handed over to him the churches of Antioch, torn from the followers of Meletius, and in 373 he appeared at Alexandria to install in the see of Athanasius the Arian Lucius. A meager revenge for the expulsion of 53 years earlier. He died around 376.
