At Chiaravalle Milanese (from which would descend, in the second half of the century, Giovanni da Milano). In the same lower church of Assisi the most faithful, though not ignoble, Giottesque is the MAESTRO DELLA CAPPELLA DELLA MADDALENA. Among the painters known by name who belong to the Giottesque circle are DADDI (v.), although the former is archaizing and the latter strongly influenced by Siena, and, as a documented pupil of the master and an honest follower, GADDI (v.). — See plate XXXVII.
