GUIDO de SUZARIA. - Jurist, belonging to the group of post-glossators, born probably in Suzzara (Mantova) at an uncertain date: he lived between 1260 and 1292 and was successively professor at Modena, Padua, Bologna, counsellor to Charles of Anjou and again professor at Reggio Emilia and Bologna, where, it seems, he died. He was the teacher of Giacomo de Arena, Guido da Baisio and Alberto Gandino. He was proposed as bishop of Turin, but excluded, it appears, because of his married state, although, as far as is known, it was only a ratified marriage.

All these and all other works were placed on the Index by decree of 12 July 1933.
