IOIARIB. – Name of several figures of the Old Testament (Heb. Jēhōjārībh, more often Jējārībh).
1. A prominent priest (I Par. 9:10), entrusted with the first course of service in the Temple (ibid. 24:7).
2. A priest from the time of the exile, who returned to his homeland with Zorobabel (Neh. 11:10; 12:6).
3. A member of the tribe of Judah, ancestor of Maasia (Neh. 11:5).
4. A contemporary and collaborator of Ezra in organizing the return of the exiles to Jerusalem (Estd. 8:16).
