JOIARIB. - Name of several figures of the Old Testament (Heb. Jēhōjārībh, more often Jējārībh).

1. A very prominent priest (1 Chron. 9:10), charged with the first turn of service in the Temple (ibid. 24:7).

2. A priest of the time of the exile, who returned to his homeland with Zerubbabel (Neh. 11:10; 12:6).

3. A member of the tribe of Judah, ancestor of Maaseiah (Neh. 11:5).

4. A contemporary and collaborator of Ezra in organizing the return of the exiles to Jerusalem (Ezra 8:16).
