IOIARIB. - Name of several figures in the Old Testament (Hebrew: Yehoïarîb, more often Yôjârîb).
1. A prominent priest (1 Chron. 9:10), entrusted with the first division of service in the Temple (ibid. 24:7).
2. A priest during the exile who returned to the homeland with Zerubbabel (Neh. 11:10; 12:6).
3. A member of the tribe of Judah, ancestor of Maasiah (Neh. 11:5).
4. A contemporary and collaborator of Ezra in organizing the return of the exiles to Jerusalem (Ezra 8:16).
