JALABERT, Louis. — Epigraphist, b. in Lyons on 30 March 1877, d. in Nice on 12 Aug. 1943. He entered the novitiate of the Society of Jesus in 1895, and was then sent to the Collège de Saint-Joseph in Beirut (Syria), where he taught from 1901 to 1907, later moving to the Faculty of Oriental Studies in Beirut from 1911 to 1914.
He was ordained priest in August 1910. Returning to France, he served as administrator of the journal *Études*.
