MANGANO, VINCENZO. - Journalist and politician, an authoritative member of the regional and national organizations of Catholic Action. Born in Palermo on 5 Oct. 1866, died in Rome on 16 June 1940. As a young man he collaborated on various local newspapers and took part, alongside Toniolo, in the Catholic conferences on social studies. He stood beside Fr. Luigi Sturzo in the founding of the Popular Party, and was an editor of Il popolo from its foundation. During Fascism he lived in isolation, devoted to his studies. He was the author of numerous writings, some of which are still unpublished.

Analisi documentata del movimento fascista (written in 1923); and a commentary on the De regimine principum of St. Thomas, composed between 1928-29, judged his masterpiece.
