BENEDICTINE MISSIONARY SISTERS OF THE QUEEN OF THE APOSTLES. - The Institute was founded at Loppen-les-Bruges (Belgium) by the Benedictine abbot

Don Teodoro Neve, and was canonically erected by the Sacred Congregation of Religious on 21 April 1921. By the decree of praise of 25 November 1946 it became of pontifical right.

The monastery of Our Lady of Bethany, at Loppen-les-Bruges, is considered a general priory and has under it the priory of St. Scholastica of Roriz-Négrelos in Portugal and the priory of St. Benedict of Medea (Algeria).

The particular purpose of the Institute is the practice of the monastic life in the Benedictine form and the missionary apostolate. The nuns work in the missions of the Congo, Mexico and Algeria.

In 1949 the nuns numbered 160 and the novices 12, distributed among 11 conventual and simple priories.
