TIMONE, saint. — One of the first seven deacons.
He is mentioned in the account of the election of the deacons in Acts 6:1–6, but nothing is known of his life. Adon recalls him on 19 April in his Martyrology, from which he subsequently passed into the Roman Martyrology. In the Synaxaria, his encomium is read on 30 June.
