TIMOTHY OF CONSTANTINOPLE. - Priest and treasurer of the church of Hagia Sophia.

He wrote between the 6th and 7th centuries, under the title On Those Who Approach the Holy Church, a historical work in which the schisms and heresies of the 6th century are listed, and especially the Monophysite sects. T. distinguishes those who must be baptized, those who need only be confirmed, and those who simply make an abjuration at the moment of conversion.
