VINCENZO, ORONZO and VITTORIO, saints, martyrs. — The Roman Martyrology commemorates them on 22 January as victims of the persecution of Diocletian at Embrun in France; other sources assign them to Gerona, in Spain.
The divergence has been thought reconcilable by making them martyrs of Gerona, while their relics would subsequently have been transferred to Embrun. Their Acts are “apocryphal and fabulous”; and perhaps Vincenzo should be identified with the well-known deacon of Saragossa, martyred in 304. O., bishop, martyr, and patron of Lecce, should be distinguished from the one commemorated in this group of martyrs.
