Miserere mei, Deus. A prayer of David in danger and distress.

1Unto the end, for a people that is removed at a distance form the sanctuary: for David, for an inscription of a title (or pillar) when the Philistines held him in Geth.Per la gente allontanata dalle cose sante: iscrizione da mettersi sopra una colonna, per Davidde: quando gli stranieri lo ebbero in Geth.Vnto the end, for a people, that is made far from the Sainctes, Dauid in the inscription of the title, when the foreners held him in Geth. (1. Reg. 12. v. 12.)In finem, pro populo qui a sanctis longe factus est. David in tituli inscriptionem, cum tenuerunt eum Allophyli in Geth. 2Have mercy on me, O God, for man hath trodden me under foot; all the day long he hath afflicted me fighting against me.Abbi misericordia di me, o Dio; perocché l'uomo mi ha conculcato:, tutto giorno assalendomi mi ha afflitto.HAVE mercie on me ô God, because man hath troden vpon me: al the day impugning he hath afflicted me.Miserere mei, Deus, quoniam conculcavit me homo; / tota die impugnans, tribulavit me. 3My enemies have trodden on me all the day long; for they are many that make war against me.Tutto giorno mi han conculcato i miei nemici; perocché sono molti quei, che combattono contro di me.Myne enimies haue troden vpon me al the day: because they are manie that warre against me.Conculcaverunt me inimici mei tota die, / quoniam multi bellantes adversum me. 4From the height of the day I shall fear: but I will trust in thee.Nel pieno giorno sarò in timore; ma io spererò in te.From the height of the day I shal feare: but I wil trust in thee.Ab altitudine diei timebo: / ego vero in te sperabo. 5In God I will praise my words, in God I have put my trust: I will not fear what flesh can do against me.In Dio loderò la parola detta a me, in Dio ho posta la mia speranza; non temerò quel, che possa farmi la carne. In God I wil praise my wordes, in God haue I hoped: I wil not feare what flesh may do to me.In Deo laudabo sermones meos; / in Deo speravi: / non timebo quid faciat mihi caro. 6All the day long they detested my words: all their thoughts were against me unto evil.Tutto giorno ebbero in abbominazione le mie parole: tutti i loro pensieri son rivolti contro di me ad offendermi.Al the day did they detest my wordes; against me, al their cogitations are vnto euil.Tota die verba mea execrabantur; / adversum me omnes cogitationes eorum in malum. 7They will dwell and hide themselves: they will watch my heel. As they have waited for my soul,Si uniranno insieme, e si terranno nascosi: noteranno però i miei passi. Siccome essi sono stati attendendo al varco l'anima mia,They wil inhabite and keepe secret: they wil obserue my heele. As they haue expected my soule,Inhabitabunt, et abscondent; / ipsi calcaneum meum observabunt. / Sicut sustinuerunt animam meam, 8For nothing shalt thou save them: in thy anger thou shalt break the people in pieces. O God,tu per nissun modo li salverai: nell'ira tua dispergerai questi popoli.for nothing shalt thou saue them: in wrath thou wilt breake peoples. O God,pro nihilo salvos facies illos; / in ira populos confringes. 9I have declared to thee my life: thou hast set my tears in thy sight, As also in thy promise.A te, o Dio, ho esposto qual sia la mia vita: le mie lagrime ti se' tu poste dinanzi agli occhi tuoi, Come sta nelle tue promesse:I haue shewed my life to thee: thou hast set my teares in thy sight. As also in thy promise:Deus, vitam meam annuntiavi tibi; / posuisti lacrimas meas in conspectu tuo, / sicut et in promissione tua:

10Then shall my enemies be turned back. In what day soever I shall call upon thee, behold I know thou art my God.e allora saran messi in fuga i miei nemici: In qualunque giorno io ti invochi, ecco che io riconosco, che tu se' il mio Dio.then shal mine enemies be turned backeward. In what day soeuer I shal inuocate thee: loe I haue knowne that thou art my God.tunc convertentur inimici mei retrorsum. / In quacumque die invocavero te, / ecce cognovi quoniam Deus meus es. 11In God will I praise the word, in the Lord will I praise his speech. In God have I hoped, I will not fear what man can do to me.In Dio loderò la parola, nel Signore loderò la promessa: ho sperata in Dio, non temerò quel, che possa farmi un uomo.In God I wil praise the word, in our Lord wil I praise thee saying, I haue hoped in God, I wil not feare what man can do to me.In Deo laudabo verbum; / in Domino laudabo sermonem. / In Deo speravi: / non timebo quid faciat mihi homo. 12In me, O God, are vows to thee, which I will pay, praises to thee:Son presso di me, o Dio, i voti di laude, che ho a te fatti, i quali io scioglierò.In me, ô God are thy vowes, which I wil render, praises to thee.In me sunt, Deus, vota tua, / quæ reddam, laudationes tibi: 13Because thou hast delivered my soul from death, my feet from falling: that I may please in the sight of God, in the light of the living.Perocché liberasti l'anima mia dalla morte, e i miei piedi dalle cadute, ond'io sia accetto dinanzi a Dio nella luce dei vivi.Because thou hast deliuered my soule from death, and my feete from falling: that I may please before God, in the light of the liuing.quoniam eripuisti animam meam de morte, / et pedes meos de lapsu, / ut placeam coram Deo in lumine viventium.
